Missouri River 06.27.2026
As we approach June the Missouri River is on fire for dry-fly anglers. The water temperatures are way ahead of normal timing. This means the Mayfly and Caddis hatches are early.
The best bet-fly action of the season is right now! If you are booked in for early June you are in luck. As far as other fishing methods like nymphs and streamers go the fishing has been mediocre at best. The fish wait for the daily emergence of bugs to get busy.
Fishing drys all day will be my program going forward. If you are on your way to the Mighty Mo I would suggest that you practice your cast. Accurate casting is crucial as these fish start to get wise.
See you on the water.
