Another Season

As I begin another season of guiding fly fishers. I leave home with mixed emotions. It's always starts with a heavy heart as drive down the Swan Highway towards my destination. It's hard to leave loved ones behind for so long. It's always been this way. Being a guide isn't always easy; it's just what we do. Another season also brings excitement and anticipation of what's to come. For this ol' boy, it's about the competition! You heard it right. I'm down to crush my enemies! Any guide worth their salt wants to slay.

Long ago, I learned that trying to predict water levels and conditions is just a waste of time. I stay focused on the task at hand. A bunch before lunch is my policy. After a good morning of fishing, the rest is easy. Anyway, as I embark on season 37, I reflect on how quickly it goes. I guess it's easy to do what you love.
